DERRY AREA ATHLETIC TRAINING & SPORTS MEDICINE
UPMC Sports Medicine provides a Licensed Athletic Trainer to the Derry Area School District.
An Athletic Trainer is a health care professional who works under the direction of physicians. Athletic Trainers provide services including but not limited to: injury prevention, education, clinical diagnosis, immediate injury care/emergency care, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic Trainers are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, NATA Board Certification and Pennsylvania State Licensure. They also participate annually in continuing education to stay abreast of the latest techniques and advancements in medicine.
